Proper joint treatment is the key step to make your EPS Cement Sandwich Panel partition wall completely smooth and free of cracks after finishing and this simple step by step guide can help you get perfect results. First you need to clean all the dust and small debris from the gap between two adjacent EPS Cement Sandwich Panels to make sure the joint mortar can stick firmly to the panel surface. Then apply a thin layer of special joint base mortar along the whole joint line and press a matching alkali resistant fiberglass mesh tape into the wet mortar to cover the entire joint area. Apply a second thin layer of joint mortar on top of the fiberglass tape and make sure the whole area is completely covered and slightly higher than the panel surface. After the mortar is fully cured for around 24 hours you can use fine grit sandpaper to gently sand the joint area until it is completely flat and smooth with the rest of the EPS Cement Sandwich Panel surface. If you need to get an even smoother finish for later painting you can apply a very thin layer of general wall putty on the joint area after the joint mortar is fully dry. Following this standard joint treatment process you will never see any cracks appear on the joint part of your EPS Cement Sandwich Panel partition even after many years of usage.
